DOS announced a Temporary Final Rule (TRF) creating an expedite fee for B1/B2 visa appointments at consular posts- $750.00 for the time period starting July 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026. This fee will allow applicants to get an interview appointment within 10 business days, at selected posts. Note: this service will be an optional premium addition to the standard NIV application fees.

This is a pilot program and during this time period, at selected posts, applicants will have the option to move to the front of the line by paying the $750.00 fee, without providing any justification for the expedite request. This fee will also include an expedited return of the passport, after an approval. Note: applicants will still be subject to all standard visa eligibility and processing requirements.
